The engineer troops

 

The engineer troops as their own unit was formed in 1855. When the unit was at its largest during the later
part of the 20th century, it consisted of three regiments: Ing 1, Ing 2 and Ing 3. Today only Ing 2 exists in
Eksjö. The engineer troops' main tasks are to carry out various types of field work, e.g. bridge and
road construction, field fortifications and protection facilities, mining and munitions clearance. IN
Miliseum's "Engineer's Hall" welcomes you with a thematic exhibition of selected parts of the squad
business, both past and present.
